Seiryoji-Jizo-1

Although this statue of jizo from Seiryo-ji in Arashiyama in Kyoto is from the Buddhist tradition, for some reason it reminds me of one of the three Magi and the Christmas carol "We Three Kings" I remember so vividly from Christmas pageants when I was a child. I think it is a fitting image to end the year with, as is one of my favorite quotes from William Blake: "For every thing that lives is Holy, life delights in life." May you delight in life in 2011, 2012, and beyond. I'll be back early in January 2012.
